Dr. James W. Kirkconnell

Dr. James W.Kirkconnell is an Optometric Physician, and graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1984. He did his internship at the Naval Regional Medical Center in New Orleans, and he did his undergraduate work at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.

Dr. Kirkconnell treats most eye diseases such as eye infections, corneal abrasions, foreign body removal, red eyes, allergies, dry eyes, iritis, problems associated with contact lens wear, and evaluation of diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. He teams up with several surgeons to give you optimum care when surgery is necessary, and provides pre-operative and post-operative care of cataract and LASIK surgery patients.

While he enjoys helping patients see their best in eyeglasses and contact lenses, he is happy to discuss LASIK options with you, as he has followed over 750 refractive surgery patients.

He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Tennessee Optometric Association, and the Middle Tennessee Optometric Association. He is married to Linda Kirkconnell, and enjoys hiking, music, dogs, and keeping up with their two adult children and four grandchildren.

Rob, Optician

Rob has over 8 years of experience as an optician. He is very good at helping patients select the proper style in a frame, and making sure that the glasses fit well. He is skilled in frame adjustments, repairs, and also assists the doctor by doing pre-tests, retinal photography, and visual fields.  Rob is fluent in Spanish.

Barb Paugh, Administrative Assistant

Barb fills many important roles in our office. She is responsible for scheduling, insurance claims, correspondence, advertising graphics, and accounting. She has over 10 years experience as an administative assistant.  She also helps out with frame selection and adjustments!
